Men's and Co-ed Softball Tournaments in Madrid, New Mexico
The Madrid Cultural Projects welcomes you to the 2019 tourney season at the historic Oscar Huber Memorial Ballpark in Madrid, New Mexico.
We are hosting two tournaments in 2019:
All profits go directly toward ballpark restoration and maintenance.
This year's restoration projects include: constructing a new storage shed that can also be used as a concession stand, historic rock-wall restoration, and continued improvements to our new playground, field and picnic area. The ballpark was built before the 1920s by the Madrid Employee Club when Madrid was a coal-mining town. The Madrid Miners baseball team took the field for the first time in 1920 so stay tuned for our Centennial next year.
Prepare to enjoy some peanuts and hot dogs, and watch the play on our new infield from our new bleachers in our refurbished grandstand while letting the kids play in our new playground next to the field.
This event is organized by the Madrid Cultural Projects (MCP). The cool logo was designed by Randy Jones.
The grandstand restoration was a joint project of Santa Fe County, MCP, & Madrid Landowners Association. The new infield and scoreboard were funded through the PNM PowerUp Grant. Our new playground was installed with funding from Santa Fe County, the MCP, and lots of local creative contributions and sweat so bring the kids!
